Mosquitoes are affectionately referred to as the Louisiana state bird. But dealing with the threat of mosquito-carrying diseases is no joke. West Nile and Encephalitis are dangerous diseases. J&J Exterminating combats the threat of blood-sucking mosquitoes with Mosquito Combat programs.
You will be serviced by J&J Exterminating technicians trained by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture as well as the manufacturer of products that may be used in your yard.
A complete site inspection will be performed and graph of your property will be made showing areas of concern.
Customers will be provided with a list of recommendations to help reduce breeding and resting sites for mosquitoes, do away with as much standing water as possible. This may be as simple as filling in low areas, creating drainage, keeping bird baths and dog watering bowls filled with fresh water, trimming foliage, weeding and cutting tall grass cut to prevent mosquito harbor areas from building up.
Treatment options and recommendations will be offered to the customer based their particular needs. These include:
- Insect Growth Regulators - IGRs, disrupt the mosquito's growth cycle. These products are used in areas where water is stagnant and cannot be corrected.
- Residual treatments - These treatments kill the mosquito after they come in contact with the product. This type of treatment is limited due to the mosquito not always resting in the same area that has been treated.
- Contact treatments - This type of treatment is done on a continuous basis. Equipment with timers is often required with this time of treatment. Small aerosol machines and custom misting systems can be installed offering automated misting of your backyard or commercial property.
- Timed spraying - This is a one-time spraying for parties and other social gatherings from the smallest to the largest events.
